Architectural features and LEED requirements are driving factors for the use of precast / prestressed concrete products for these structures. Typical products used on this type of project are walls (exterior) and hollowcore slabs (elevated flooring - noise reduction). The walls can be insulated or non-insulated, and architectural finishes (colors, textures, reveals and brick insets) can be added for style to compliment the surrounding environment or structures.
Blast resistance is another important factor to be considered for these structures due to past incidents.
